The Photography's Day 2010

I had a nice day in the sun at The Photography's Day at Preus Museum in Horten yesterday. I caught the colourful portrait photographer Agnete Brun talking about her work and saw a massive exhibition of Robert Adams's work, which was excellent.

Prescription Heroin

I shot stills on location and promo pics of two short films several months ago. The project is called "Heroin på blå resept", roughly translated it's called "Prescription Heroin". The films are directed by Kristoffer Joner and the stars in the films are Odd Børretzen and Erik Thorstvedt. Decorating Amatøren

I've sold four live photographs to the student house Amatøren. I shot all four photos at the annual student music festival Rock am Sogn 2009 .The bands in the photos are (from top left): Cairo Pythian, Origami Arktika, Accidents Never Happen and Masselys.

I have also donated a photograph to Amatøren, one of the photos that was a part of my exhibition during Rock am Sogn 2009.
The photo is printed on canvas and is 2 meters tall. The fun loving model is Lydia Pinkham.

Esssssence

I did a shoot last week for clothing design student Carina Christensen, who is in her second year at Kunst & Håndverkskolen (Art & Crafts school) in Oslo. She had the most fantastic concept for her collection of three dresses and two jackets: Grandma's wardrobe meets the gym!Clothes: Carina Christensen, model: Petra N/team, make-up: Rita Dalsbø, styling: Tom Murphy.

The shoot was the end of a seven weeks long project for the students and ended with an exhibition this weekend at the gallery in St.Olavs gate 3. Carina had made an installation of the clothes and photos, perfectly mounted in Granny-style frames, on a shelf rack.

I recently did my second shoot for AKKS Oslo of their DJ-night "Snurrekveld" (spinning night) with five different DJs who have taken the AKKS DJ course.Earlier this autumn I documented their "Girl's Rock Ball" event featuring three different bands and a couple of DJs. This year's Rock am Sogn was a fantastic festival to be a part of! I had several series exhibited there and I was the festival's photographer, the photos will be posted at Rock am Sogn's website shortly. I have only received positive feedback and nothing but enjoyed myself during the entire event.

Øyafestivalen 2009

I took pics at Øyafestivalen this year too, and I'm counting on coming back again next year, I can hardly wait! My main focus this year was concert photography. Some of my pics from Øya have been used in NME.

Rock am Sogn 2009

The Rock am Sogn festival is only two weeks away! 21.-22. August. I have two brand new art photo projects I'm exhibiting at the festival, and if that wasn't enough I'll also be showing off some older work that haven't been exhibited before. Artist Heidi Bråthen is decorating the place with sculptures and lamps, I can hardly wait so see her work there myself!

One of my new projects is a collaboration with stylist and make-up artist Ingvild Eiring. The series of seven photographs is called "Résumé" and is inspired by the Dorothy Parker poem with the same name. All the photos are mounted in deep frames with *ehem* stuff and things inside to get a 3D effect. Here's a sneak preview of one of the photographs unframed.Model: Lydia Pinkham

The other new project to be exhibited at the festival is called "Plastic Parade" and is basically a series of plastic animal figures photographed using a Lensbaby lens. I tried to make them look as real as possible, here's one of them:

Oslo Fashion Week No.12

The magazine for Oslo Fashion Week No.12 is finally out! I took some pictures for OFW of colorful fabrics that were blowing in the wind, that were used for decoration on press material and such. I also did a shoot with the model Maria Aksnes, styling and make-up by Ingvild Eiring, and one of the photos ended up in the magazine. Rock am Sogn 2009

I have been invited by the visual artist Heidi Bråthen to help her decorate the locations at the annual music festival Rock am Sogn 2009. We had our first meeting last week, and I can hardly wait to get started on the project. I can already say that our work for the festival is going to be heavily influenced by surrealism, symbolism and fantastic creatures. I'll keep you posted!

My solo exhibition "Linger" is being exhibited again, this time at Cyan Studio in Oslo (Jens Bjelkes gate 13). "Linger" has previously been exhibited at Oslo Science Fiction Festival 2008.

Vernissage on Friday 30th January (18.00-21.00). Open from 11.00-17.00 on Saturday 31st January, from 12.00-18.00 on Sunday 1st February.

I was hired to do a shoot of a project called "Transformasjon" ("Transformation") for students at Kunst & Håndverkskolen (Art & Crafts School) in Oslo. I have made it onto the pages of IKON magazine once again. This time with a series of three photographs in an article about people who have jobs where they often become involuntary therapists, sort of speak. The three chosen ones were a taxi driver, a hairdresser and a barman.

It was a lovely day at Blå on Sunday. The weather was perfect, sunny all day long, and the people stopping by were all smiles. I will definitely come back! I'll let you know as soon as I know when.

Here's the view from my tableand this is what my table looked likeI sold prints with and without passepartout, postcards, photos in acrylic blocks, keychains and mobile phone charms. I will have lots more to choose from next time!

Bladed

I did a shoot with the Norwegian indie rock/noise band Bladed this spring and I was no less than thrilled when they wanted to use one of my photos as a poster image. I saw them live at Garage this week and I was blown away. Øyafestivalen 2008

Four days of rock & roll, and taking a lot of photographs went by in no time at all. I had a great time working at Øyafestivalen and I'm counting on repeating it next year. I got a pleasant start, taking Wednesday off to enjoy the festival with some friends. Thursday and Friday I roamed the area taking atmosphere pics, the job I was hired to do there. And finally on the last day of the festival, on Saturday, I spent most of the day taking concert photographs.

Oslo Science Fiction Festival - part 4

I was the one and only official photographer at OSFF, a cosy job really, as it is a small festival I managed to cover pretty much everything that happened there without much stress.

Except for having my first solo exhibition featured at the festival my own personal highlights of the event were taking a few (very spontaneous) portraits of the author Iain M. Banks, and stalking a couple of Stormtroopers from the Nordic Garrison on the underground and through Karl Johan (the main street in Oslo). The Nordic Garrison isn't only about Star Wars enthusiasts dressing up as characters from the movies, they also collect money for charities, have a look at their website to find out more: www.nordicgarrison.net

Oslo Science-Fiction Festival is getting closer. I will exhibit about 20 photos I think are best described as dark and mysterious contemporary fairy tales.

Oslo Science Fiction Festival (OSFF) is a gathering for everyone interested in Science Fiction and Fantasy in litterature and film. At the festival, you'll find movie screenings, debates, lectures and more.

OSFF 2008 takes place Thursday July 31st to Sunday August 3rd at Helga Eng's House, Blindern, University of Oslo.

I have been granted a project support of 20.000,- NOK from Norske Fagfotografers Fond (The Norwegian Federation of Craft Enterprises). The money is to be spent on an exhibition by the end of the year...

A brief encounter with SKUM

I did three shoots for the free magazine SKUM in October. One with Carl Newman and John Collins of The New Pornographers, one with Charlotte from Charlotte & The Co. Stars and a fashion shoot where one of the models called in sick about an hour before the shoot (I solved that particular problem by making a twin out of the one I had to work with).

But none of these photos got published. After 12 years of existence SKUM was suddenly declared dead. The magazine was never published, but at least I got some new pictures for my portfolio out of it.

Oslo Science-Fiction Festival - part l

It has been decided that I am going to exhibit about 20 photographs at Oslo Science Fiction Festival in 2008. If everything goes according to plan the event will take place at Blindern (University of Oslo) from the 31st of July to the 3rd of August.

I am going to make a series of photographs especially for this event. I haven't quite decided on the theme yet, but I can assure you that it will be something dark and disturbing (and not necessarily sci-fi as such).
